The
Tiger fish is responsible for the now world renown
'Tiger Fish Tournament'
that
is held here every year on the lake in October.
The Tiger fish is considered by many to be one of the finest game fish around
and have flourished in the rich waters of the lake. The largest average weight caught in competition is just under eight pounds, but the speed, courage and strength of the
Tiger fish make it a worthy opponent for the skilful angler. Safaris on Lake Kariba are usually done on a houseboat which offer the opportunity of Tiger fishing as well as Bream or just game viewing by boat along the lake shores.
